I absolutely love Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). Most recently, Cruz has criticized Joe Biden’s border crisis official yesterday. He wrote a letter destroying the current “president” while demanding Biden reverse his decision to not allow media access to facilities housing the overflowing number of illegal immigrant children. Moreover, he is leading a group of senators heading their Friday setting up a possible confrontation.
Here’s what Cruz wrote per The Blaze.
At the beginning of your administration, Press Secretary Jen Psaki stressed the importance of “truth and transparency” and a “deep respect for the role of a free and independent press.” At the beginning of the month, Secretary Mayorkas stated that he would adhere to principles of “openness and transparency.” But now, when your administration faces a crisis of your own making, you are refusing to allow the very transparency you promised and that you demanded from prior administrations.
Denying the press the ability to observe, film, and report on the conditions at the border is not openness or transparency-it is hiding the truth from the American people. The press and the American people deserve more than denials and excuses from a podium. They deserve to see and understand the crisis for themselves with the help of reporters who are free and independent from your administration.
Yesterday, I wrote about the leaked photos detailing the deplorable conditions inside these facilities. Cruz is making it clear exactly what the Biden administration has been trying to hide with their media blackout. The Left and their communications arm that is the legacy media have been using every excuse under the sun to scream about “children in cages” and “this is a manufactured crisis!” The current situation at the border shows just how hypocritical Biden and his fellow executive branch blowhards are.
The situation at our southern border are are far worse than they were at any point under Trump’s administration. Cruz is challenging Biden in his letter, and rightfully so. What’s more, Cruz is doing what I expect from Ted Cruz by pointing out that this is a “crisis of your own making.” Truer words have never been spoken.
Biden’s reckless rhetoric during the campaign while attempting to appease his far-Left flank is direct result we are seeing. Biden has promised a 100-day moratorium on deportations and, though he may have technically meant that to only apply to those already here, people in Central America don’t care.
Additionally, when you promise free healthcare and more to illegal immigrants during a debate it tends to catch their attention. I’m certain everyone who saw the primary debates where each candidate raised their hand saying they would do this sort of thing, they each knew a trip North was in the works. They were just waiting to see what the American people did last November. Words have consequences. Of course Biden was going to end Trump’s wildly successful Remain in Mexico policy that previously disincentivize these actions.
All of that has created what we are seeing and the crisis we now face.
Cruz’s delegation should shed more light as they head to the border Friday. Therefore, the confrontation is imminent. All of this assuming CBP allows them to show the conditions and speak freely about what we all know they will see. The continuation of the cover-up is likely going to continue, but Cruz will not be in an obedient mood should Biden continue to lock us out on what we should all see. They are actively removing the 1st amendment in real-time.
The crisis at the border is real and so is the media blackout they’re perpetrating. Fortunately, the right man is leading a delegation. I also suspect we will see a new episode of “Verdict with Ted Cruz” dropping shortly thereafter.
